We are part of the Romeu Group, a family business group originating in Spain and founded around 150 years ago.
Born in Tarragona in 1869, over four generations the Romeu family has created a logistics group now present in all the principal Spanish ports and cities, and which has an international presence currently extending to 23 countries on four continents.
The Group’s activities are driven by the needs of different markets and their synergies and offers a comprehensive logistic service that is organized into six business divisions: a consignment shipping agency; freight-forwarding; maritime consolidations; logistics; bulk liquids and isotanks; and financial investments. Each of these divisions operates independently at the commercial level.
Green Ibérica S.L. was founded in 1985 by the Romeu Group to represent the Taiwanese shipping company—Evergreen Marine Corporation (now Evergreen Line), in Spain. Before this, Romeu & Cía. S.A., another of the Romeu Group companies had been fulfilling this role since 1978.
Green Ibérica started out in offices in Barcelona and Valencia, and over the course of the next few years it also opened new offices in Bilbao, Madrid, Alicante, Vigo, Canary Islands, and Malaga, among others. Subsequently, Evergreen chose us as their agent in Portugal, Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria, and we opened offices in Lisbon, Oporto, Tunis, Algiers, and Oran, where we operate through associate companies. Thus, the philosophy of the Romeu Group was transmitted to Green Iberica, where we dedicate all our efforts and resources to service quality to benefit our customers.
